Governed agentic catalog
You can register, manage, evaluate, and reuse AI-powered agents and tools in a secure, centralized repository that uses the governed agentic catalog. You can build agentic applications with confidence by using components that meet standards for transparency, performance, and governance. Whether you prefer working through the user interface (UI) or automating tasks with the software developer kit (SDK), you can manage AI assets in the catalog for all your projects and teams.
Capabilities
You can share and manage agents and tools in the governed agentic catalog with the following capabilities:
- Use IBM tools
- You can find tools that are provided by IBM and include them in your solution. See Finding and by using agents and tools in the governed agentic catalog.
- Share agents and tools that are deployed elsewhere
- You can add endpoints for existing agents and tools that are deployed externally to watsonx.ai. See Adding an endpoint for an agent or tool.
- Create agents and tools within the catalog
- You can add code for agents and tools to the catalog. See Adding code for an agent or tool.
- Compare agents and tools
- You can view and compare the properties and evaluation metrics of two agents or tools. See Comparing agents and tools.
Ways to work
You can work with the governed agentic catalog in two main ways:
- Use the UI to register, search, and manage agents and tools through a guided interface.
- Use the Python SDK to automate catalog operations like registration, retrieval, and invocation.
To get started with code, see Tools Python SDK APIs and Agents Python SDK APIs.
Architecture overview
Governed agentic catalog integrates with your broader AI development workflow. You register agents and tools into inventory workspaces, where they’re stored and managed.
